(Please Help) During The Civil War, How Did The Cultural And Economic Differences In The North And South

Answers

Answer 1

Answer:

For years, textbook authors have contended that economic difference between North and South was the primary cause of the Civil War. The northern economy relied on manufacturing and the agricultural southern economy depended on the production of cotton. The desire of southerners for unpaid workers to pick the valuable cotton strengthened their need for slavery. The industrial revolution in the North did not require slave labor and so people there opposed it. The clash brought on the war.

Answers

Answer:

I believe the answer is that several states had laws requiring segregated schools.

Explanation:

Several states had laws requiring segregated schools, especially in the Southern States where the Jim Crow laws had been enforced for almost a century. Segregation was legal as long as the facilities provided for both White and African Americans were equal. Nevertheless, the Brown v. Board of Education Case (1954) proved that “separate but equal” facilities were in fact, unequal; they were a form of discrimination that instilled a sense of inferiority to African Americans and thus it violated the 14th Amendment, an amendment that guarantees all citizens equal protection of the laws.

Write a 7 sentence paragraph briefly summarizing what the Cuban Missile Crisis was all about.

Answers

Answer:

The Cuban Missile Crisis was a 13-day hostile argument between the United States and the Soviet Union. The cause of the crisis was on President Kennedy's orders to invade the Bay of Pigs in April 1961, which backfired badly and led to Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev's agreement with Cuba to place nuclear missiles on the island. Meanwhile, the White House was denying allegations of ignoring dangerous Soviet missiles apparently 90 miles from Florida, although this was later confirmed when photos shot from an air force spy plane showed clear pictures of the missiles. When he heard, President Kennedy ordered a meeting with the National Security Council and ordered a naval blockade to prevent further missiles from reaching Cuba. But disaster was avoided when the U.S. agreed to Nikita Khrushchev’s offer to remove the Cuban missiles in exchange for the U.S. assuring them that they wouldn't invade Cuba.

The Cuban Missile Crisis is often said to be the closest the U.S ever came to breaking out into nuclear war.

The augmented matrix below represents a system of equations.

Answers

Answer:

Option 2

Explanation:

<--> symbol means you must interchange (swap) Row 1 and Row 2. This means you must switch the two rows where row 1 (-1 1 2 | 7) takes place of row 2 (-3 2 1 | 4) and vice versa.

The matrix operation denoted as R1<--->R2 means that the First and Second rows of the Augmented matrix are interchanged in the resulting matrix. Hence, the result should be;

[tex] \left[\begin{array}{cccc}-3&2&1&4\\-1&1&2&7 \\2&1&1&7\end{array}\right] [/tex]

We are interested in the first and second rows of the matrix (R1 and R2) respectively as the third row (R3) will remain unchanged.

R1 = - 1, 1, 2, 7

R2 = - 3, 2, 1, 4

Interchanging the row values as signified by the symbol ; R1<--->R2 :

R1 becomes : |-3, 2, 1, 4 |

R2 becomes : |-1, 1, 2, 7 |

Therefore, the correct matrix output after the transformation R1<--->R2 is

[tex] \left[\begin{array}{cccc}-3&2&1&4\\-1&1&2&7 \\2&1&1&7\end{array}\right] [/tex]

In a few sentences, describe the economic features of Europe, China and Japan. How did they each sustain themselves

economically as a civilization?

PLEASE HELP!!

Answers

Answer:

Europe had a tiny downfall from The Black Death, 100 Years' War, and The Great Famine. They were able though to quickly turn that around with trade, marketing and having children pitch in to do simple tasks like farming, sewing and just some minor work. Since The Black Plague took out most of their farmers, seamstress and builders. They were even about to attempt taxation; but they never quite got around to that.

China sustained themselvs economically through the Silk Road, it was their main source of income, trade and exchange of culture. Without the Silk Road since China is far from Europe and Africa. I would think they would've had a harder time expanding their culture and learning about others. One thing, China did was educate all of their people when they were young by putting them in the field to learn farming and gave them a public education. This made it easier to employ their people and you're right, higher them to jobs which would support the economy.

Japan on the other had was isolated from the rest of the continent by sea. They had no access to the Silk Road or trade, unless they went by sea. (Which they did). Their only hope in ancient times was to stay put and try to learn how to grow their country without influences of others. Then the people come to them, just like Korea and China did. They taught them how to trade, traded with them and let neighboring countries know of the growing country. Throughout all of that, Japan had built up a civilization and learned how to travel by sea to the Silk Road that they've heard of. They traded things like seafood, bamboo and other things relatively related to their island with the civilizations on the Silk Road. In return they had spices, new cultures, influences and relationships now. They went back and started to figure out how to form an economy which they figured out pretty fast how to do considering they were relatively knewer than their neighboring countries. They created their own spin on Buddhism, Shintoism. And decided to start selling their art, stories and native things to their island. Soon after they had an economy to shortly follow.

Read the quote by President George W. Bush, honoring the Tuskegee Airmen in 2007.

These men in our presence felt a special sense of urgency. They were fighting two wars: One was in Europe, and the

other took place in the hearts and minds of our citizens. That's why we're here. The white commander of the Tuskegee

airfield was once asked—with all seriousness-how do African Americans fly?-reflecting the ignorance of the times,

they said, how do African Americans fly? He said, "Oh, they fly just like everybody else flies-stick and rudder.

What were the "two wars" that were fought by the Tuskegee Airmen during World War II?

the wars against Germany in Europe and Japan in the Pacific

the wars to maintain superiority in the air and with naval forces at sea

the wars against discrimination at home and against the axis powers

the wars to mobilize the homefront and to liberate allies in other countries

Answers

The correct answer is C. The wars against discrimination at home and against the axis powers

Explanation:

In the excerpt presented, President George W. Bush refers to the Tuskeegee Airmen, who were mainly African American pilots that fought for the U.S. during the Second World War. About this Bush mentions "They were fighting two wars: One was in Europe and the  other took place in the hearts and minds of our citizens".

About this it can be inferred, the first war was the Second World War in which the United States belonged to the Allies and fought against the Axis, which included countries such as Germany, Japan, and Italy because this was the main war in which these pilots participated. Besides this, the second war Bush mentions is likely the war and conflict due to discrimination in the U.S. because back then African Americans were still considered inferior by white citizens; this is supported by the words of Bush as he tells an anecdote in which the white commander was asked "how do African Americans fly?", which shows the discrimination through the pilots just because they were African Americans.
