Briefly describe similarities between the art and philosophy of ancient Greece and the Renaissance.

Answers

Answer 1

Answer:

Well, both do have similarities and differences. Both seem to be the time when the roots of modern society would be formed, however, their ways on how it was done were different.

First let’s see about what Ancient Greece has done. It founded the idea of governing a country using democracy with Athens being the city-state that first did that. Ancient Greece also had one of the most notorious and well recognized warriors ever being the Spartan soldiers with king Leonidas and his 300 Spartans holding out in a narrow path in Thermopylae. Philosophy was a major influence in Athens with philosophers such as Plato, Socrates, and Aristotle. Also, religion was a major factor in the influence on Rome with gods like Zeus, Saturn, Ares and Mars. And with the Greco-Persian War, the Greek city-states, being mostly independent were able to unite against the Persians, which they were at the time a big empire like Alexander the Great.

Now let’s see about the Renaissance. Unlike Ancient Greece, it influenced almost all of Europe due to migration. Also, art became a work from celebrities because colors like red and purple were expensive to get and were used on paintings by people like Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo. The Renaissance has had people divided like Ancient Greece but not by city-states, rather by noble families like the Medici family from Florence. It sparked in one place and then started to spread, with Florence being the city that starts it all. Lastly, religion was a major thing from the Renaissance by influencing art and eventually leading Martin Luther to write the 95 theses, thus sparking a division in Christianity with now having Lutherans, Catholics, Christians, Orthodox and Protestants. There are more things from the Renaissance, but it is a long list.

It seems that both have a great influence on religion, having from a lot of gods and goddesses to one god and his son with his followers, but both people from both places were influenced greatly by religion by expressing it on art. Another is the way on government with, in the Renaissance having monarchies all throughout Europe and in Ancient Greece Athens being the first city-state to be governed by a democracy. Aside from those, that is all what is needed to be known.

Answer 2
Art allows individuals to express themselves as well as leave a legacy. Throughout history, we have witnessed several cultures preserve their legacy and represent their feelings through art. Ancient Greece is one example of this. The artists from this era have preserved their legacy while simultaneously expressing themselves. Similarly, the artists from the renaissance have done the same. Research allows the cultures of Ancient Greece and the Renaissance to be compared.

Briefly describe similarities between the art and philosophy of ancient Greece and the Renaissance.

Answers

Answer:

Why might it be confusing to compare the stylistic periods in art with similarly named periods in music?

Answers

Because they evolve at different rates even though they are both art forms. They had different influences the time period wont effect it.

Answer:

Because art and music are influenced by different things, and the times in which each period happened could be at completely different times throughout the years. Both change styles during different times in history. To accurately depict the similarities between the two you would most likely have to compare them by times in history (the 60,'s, 70's, 80's etc.) instead of stylistic periods.

TRANSPARENCY

Answer:

You start to panic, wondering if you will turn into a ghost and run to your bathroom mirror your hand. You can't see it anymore but, you still can... As you wonder what is happening you start to notice that your bed is fading and so are you. Is the Earth fading away you wonder? Luckily, your mom left the TV open and you see that there is a disease that makes you fade and everything you touch. Oh, no you start to think and realize that your very best friend was starting to look transparent yesterday, you touched him at lunch. You now see that your right arm turned a ghostly white and that is spreading to your body. What will you do you ask yourself and you hear that there is only one cure and it is all the way downtown. You can't drive and you can't hold on to your bike so, you will have to walk but before your legs start to fade. You find the shop that sells it that was all the way downtown. It was almost your turn when they came down to one last bottle all hope was up. Then, boom someone exploded the bottle and you start crying and realize that you can now touch your face and sigh with relief so, does everyone else and see that it cured everything in the town. The next morning your alarm clock jolts you awake you reach out to stop it and see that it happens again and rush right back to the store, just to see that everyone else was thinking the same thing...

Perhaps you had finally died, maybe the world’s sick sense of irony had caught up and dragged you once more into it’s dark and consuming grasp. You look down to see a limp and pale figure of what you assumed was your body, yet as the heart monitor beeped onward, the idea of you perishing and ending up like this seemed less and less likely. You stood up, or floated up you guessed, and for the first time in years, you felt free. Maybe this situation was better than you had anticipated? The unattainable dreams tucked deep inside you bubbled upwards as you fazed through the bleak halls and found the same oak door you’d never seen the other side of. But this time instead of turning back, you charged forward, as a blinding blue sky and green grass made the emptiness fade away. You couldn’t quite feel the sunlight. Nor could you smell the grass. Yet this was enough for little miss sick kid to finally feel alive.
Until it all went dark once more.
