Explanation:

In this conversation, the children claim that they saw the happy prince who never thinks about crying for any reason. The mathematical master is intrigued and asks how the children saw this prince and they answer that they saw him in their dreams. The mathematical master disapproves of this, because he does not admit that children dream, but it is inevitable, because their dreams are unstoppable even if they are disapproved.

Write a brief summary of "The Last Dog."

Answers

Explanation:

The Last Dog is a documentary about a man named Peter who is in his seventies. His dog has just died and he decides he will never own another dog in his lifetime. However, a friend takes him to view a litter of Saint Bernard puppies. He falls in love with one of them and names the puppy Hawthorn. The impulsive act to give in to the immediate attraction of a puppy transforms Peter's life and enriches him and his community in many ways. Peter lives in a small town in Ontario called Listowel. He is a contributing member in the community where he is a support worker, assisting people with special needs. Peter is also a experienced painter. His past life experience, including WWll internment in Japanese prison camps, civil war in Indonesia, refugee status in Australia, repatriation to the Netherlands and finally, immigration to Canada, play a role in his reaction to his community. The documentary explores endings and beginnings and above all, renewal. It deals with time, memory and aging. The Last Dog is directed and produced by Gavin Shaw who previously made the documentary Cinemall about fans of George Romero's Dawn of the Dead. The music is by Carlo Carosi. It was shot in and around Listowel, Ontario.

what are some positive aspects of having a strong identity? Are there any negative effects?

Answers

Explanation:

ADV: A clear sense of "who you are" makes it easier to connect with other similar people and groups. People with a strong identity often stand out more and are more memorable. I'd guess that the people who are most successful in life - especially people who become famous - all have pretty strong identities.

DIS: But strong identities can also be dangerous. The drive to protect your identity can be overpowering. Sometimes we can get so caught up in this that we neglect other important things: like being open-minded, truth-seeking, and kind to others

It was close and dry and dusty in the house of the gods. I have said the magic was gone but that is not true—it had gone from the magic things but it had not gone from the place. I felt the spirits about me, weighing upon me. Nor had I ever slept in a Dead Place before—and yet, tonight, I must sleep there. When I thought of it, my tongue felt dry in my throat, in spite of my wish for knowledge. Almost I would have gone down again and faced the dogs, but I did not.

I had not gone through all the rooms when the darkness fell. When it fell, I went back to the big room looking over the city and made fire. There was a place to make fire and a box with wood in it, though I do not think they cooked there. I wrapped myself in a floor-covering and slept in front of the fire—I was very tired.

–“By the Waters of Babylon,”

Stephen Vincent Benét

Which statement best describes how the narrator responds to the conflict?

The narrator responds to his fear by staying in the big room to learn more.
The narrator responds to the conflict by killing the dogs with the bow and arrow from his father.
The narrator responds to his conflict with the spirits by using magic to defeat them.
The narrator responds to his fear by burning down the house of the gods, showing that he is no longer afraid.

Answers

Answer:

The narrator responds to his fear by staying in the big room to learn more.

Explanation:

In the story, By the Waters of Babylon by Stephen Vincent Benét a Priest named John goes on a mission to discover things about his city, and this mission was spurred by the believes of the natives that gods dwelt in the land so many years ago. Although John was filled with fear due to these beliefs and the conflict he experienced within him, he still summoned the courage to sleep in the big room.

While sleeping in that big room, it was revealed to him that there were no gods as the people believed rather it was humans that lived in those cities.

"After teaching for many years, one job posting changed the arc of her life." What impact does the word arc have on the overall tone of the the text?

Answers

Hello. You forgot to submit the text to which this question refers. The text is:

Katherine Johnson reached for the stars long before she helped send humans into space.

Born on August 26, 1918 in West Virginia, Johnson had a gift for numbers. As Johnson later described, she spent her life counting—counting the steps she walked, the dishes she washed. "Anything that could be counted, I did," she once said.

School came easily for Johnson, and she completed eighth grade by the age of 10. After that, she couldn't continue learning locally because her county didn't provide a secondary education to African American students. Johnson's father Joshua moved the family 120 miles away so she could attend high school. By 18, she graduated with honors from West Virginia State College, receiving degrees in mathematics and French. She then went on to teach these subjects at a public school.

After teaching for many years, one job posting changed the arc of her life. The National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA) was looking to hire women to fill unique positions. The job title: Computer.

Answer:

The word "arc" shows that Katherine's life has ended a stage to start a much larger one.

Explanation:

The impact of the word "arc" in the text, presents the impact of completion and restart, showing that Katherine's life has completely changed, finishing one stage to the beginning of another stage much bigger and more important in her professional life, something that even changed her personal life and the way she showed herself to the world. This shows that she achieved professional success, despite having limitations related to racism and intolerance.

What was the most memorable moment from the 3rd quarter?

We will add to list after our meet this morning. Your essay should be 6th/7th grade quality, and it should be well developed with support. Meaning for each question you address in the essay, an explanation (support) should be provided.

Answers

I would like to begin at what I am most proud of as of third quarter. One thing I am most proud of is being able to turn in work and attend my classes. A important strength I have within myself is probably how determined I am or maybe that I like to try new things which can bring strength. Something that I probably need to work on the most is my attitude towards certain things. For example my homework, it’s something most students hate but it’s something that makes up most my grade so if I want to have a good grade I just do it. Sometimes it’s hard for me to focus though. Something I enjoy most throughout my class is probably that I get to talk to my peers or learning something new. Although something I like least is when I get called on and don’t know the answer. It’s something I don’t enjoy because I often don’t feel smart afterwards. I like to watch Netflix after school I know that’s not a hobby but it’s something I enjoy. Next quarter I’m looking forward to just learning some new things. As of next year I hope I get some interesting classes that can help me focus on what I want to go after college. Since everything you do now kind of leads up to what you do in the future. Probably the easier subject for me is well..not quite sure but probably math or science. One of those two definitely. Most difficult is probably math it can be both easy and hard at times. (Make sure to edit this out but I’m not sure what projects you had so make sure you do that yourself) I think I was most excited to learn more about science in general since there is a lot of fascinating things you can learn about. One of the toughest things about being online is probably not being able to talk to each other like how it would be if it was face to face. It was convenient because I can eat whenever I want and didn’t have to worry about how I dressed. (You fill out fav spirit day and memorable moment but delete this) As you read the end of this essay, I just wanna say thank you for being one of the many teachers who have been incredible during this pandemic. Talk to you soon!
