Please tell me a love story about a man proposal for his girlfriend in the hotel.

Answers

Answer 1

Answer:

okay....

Explanation:

I met Demi though a friend of ours. I had seen her around and thought she was gorgeous so essentially asked my friend to be the matchmaker. As soon as we went on our first date we got on like a house on fire and the rest, as they say, is history.

It was Valentine’s day, I booked us into the most gorgeous suite at the Shangri La hotel which is in the Shard in London. The views are just amazing as you can see the whole of London from the floor to ceiling windows of the hotel room. I knew instantly it was where I wanted to propose to Demi.

But it was really important to me that I did something different. I didn’t want to just get down on one knee in a hotel room – Demi deserves more than that. So I enlisted the help of London’s top Proposal Planners The One Romance. For weeks before the proposal, I had secret meetings with their team and we came up with a proposal that hopefully would be as magical as Demi.

The theme behind the proposal was ‘my favorite things’ as Demi, being a typical girl, has certain things that she loves so much )(perhaps even more than me) for example Lindt chocolate and Muscato. I knew I wanted to incorporate these into the proposal so The One Romance came up with an amazing idea which included the view from the hotel room, old-fashioned romance and all the personalized little things that Demi would love.

On the evening of the proposal, we check into our room and then headed to a beautiful restaurant within the hotel for dinner. Unbeknown to Demi at that exact point The One Romance team had sneaked into our hotel room and started to put the proposal plan into action!

After supper and drinks we ventured back upstairs to our room and as Demi opened the door she was hit with the most incredible view. Our entire hotel room had been covered in thousands upon thousands of rose petals, candles and lanterns. There was a beautiful white carpet laid our like an aisle that led up from the door of the hotel room to the view out over London. On the aisle were 5 beautiful balloons and under each balloon was a gift – act one of which was one of Demi’s ‘favourite things.’ In one box there was bar of her favourite chocolate, another box contained a photo of her family, the third box has a bottle of Moscato in and the forth box was a keyring with the words ‘best teacher’ engraved on it (Demi loves her job as a teacher!

As she opened each gift I became more and more nervous as I knew the most important moment was still to come. As she approached the final box, i reached into my pocket and felt the ring box in my hand. The note attached to the box said ‘You have had all of your favourite things, can I please now have mine?’

And what was my most favourite thing in the world? Demi if course.

Demi opened the box and out came a balloon on which the words ‘will you marry me?’ were written.

It was at this point that she turned around and I got down on one knee and asked her to be my wife.

The options available are:

a. buzz session

b. symposium

c. lecture

d. book review

Answer:

c. lecture

Explanation:

The correct answer is LECTURE, this is  because, lecture basically involves the teaching or giving out of information of a particular subject by an individual to other individual (s). For example, a college lecturer teaching or lecturing the students.

And, given the situation in the question, the call for expert to give out information on how to improve the green spaces around the child development center is referred to a form of LECTURE.

It is not Option A, because Buzz session is specifically a short discussion type of meeting, in which participants voices their opinions.

It is not Option B, because Symposium has to do with presentations of recent discoveries or research by individuals on particular subject.

It is not Option D, because Book Review involves critical analysis of a book, based on its mode of written or style, genre, and content.

c. List the three main levels of formality.

Answers

Explanation:

The Familiar :

When you speak with or write to friends and family, you’re talking with people you know very well. You have shared experiences and inside jokes—for example, when you make a quick reference to your favorite restaurant, you can trust that they already know which restaurant you mean.

When writers use a familiar tone, they make assumptions about their audience because they know the audience well on a personal level, so writers feel free to share personal information. Writers don’t worry about following standard English conventions because their audience will understand what they mean and won’t judge them. Slang, idioms, sentence fragments, emojis, and texting abbreviations are probably acceptable.

The Semi-Formal

When you’re talking to someone you don’t know or someone who is your superior, you’re more likely to use a semi-formal tone. Your audience can include your boss, your grandparents (depending on your relationship with them), or your coworkers that you’re not very familiar with. This tone is generally considered acceptable for informational blogs.

When writers use a semi-formal tone, they don’t really know the members of their audience. They may know things about them; for example, a plumber writing a blog may know that his audience is primarily homeowners. However, the writer probably does not know the individual members of the audience or their life experiences.

Writers can still use contractions and common idioms, but slang generally isn’t a good idea. When writers use a semi-formal tone, they follow the rules of standard English.

The Formal

If you wrote papers in school, you’re probably familiar with a formal tone. Generally, academic, technical, and business writing use this tone.

Writers using a formal tone don’t share much at all of a personal nature, and they don’t make assumptions about or refer to their audience members’ private lives. Formal writing is precise and impersonal. Writers follow the rules of standard English with exactness: they don’t use idioms, contractions, or sentence fragments.

Depending on the company and the topic, some blogs may need a formal tone. For example, a highly technical article addressed to members of the scientific community may need a formal tone in order to gain respect. However, most blogs addressed to the general public feel stuffy when they use this tone.

Pick your level of formality in writing carefully. If you sound too formal, readers may brush you off as pretentious. However, if you’re too casual, readers may not take you seriously or feel annoyed by your assumptions about them. Though semi-formal is a good stand-by for blogs, consider your relationship with your audience every time you write an article.

Deanne really wants to drink a glass of wine, but she knows that it will make her too sleepy to finish her research paper, which is due in the morning. So, Deanne decides to save the glass of wine as a reward and drink it after she has completed her research paper. Which component of Freud's theory of personality facilitates Deanne's delay of gratification? a) the superego b) the id c) the ego d) the pleasure principle

Answers

Answer:

C. the ego

Explanation:

Based on Sigmund Frued's psychoanalytic theory of personality which stated that three fundamental structures of human mind determines the individual behavior, these structures includes: the Id, superego and ego.

The Id, which is considered the most basic among all, works unconsciously, and deals solely on basic and immediate wants or urges, such as physical gratification.

The superego on the other hand, deals with morality, in which individual based his behavior on the conscience, or objective morality of his society.

The ego however, tend to balance between the Id and superego, where by, in the process of seeking for physical needs, an individual balances it with morality, such that, one satisfy his or her desire while also not going beyond what is considered right.

Hence, in this case, for Deane to drink wine that night will equate to ID driving her behavior. For her to avoid wine completely due to perceive effect will equate to SUPEREGO driving her behavior. However, since, Deane wants to drink the wine after finishing the research paper, shows, she is be driven by EGO, which balances her urges with her goal, which she considered right thing to do at that moment.

Therefore, the component of Freud's theory of personality that facilitates Deanne's delay of gratification is EGO,

Answer:

Correct Answer:

d) the pleasure principle

Explanation:

According to Freud's theory of personality, the option that facilitated Deanne's delay of gratification is called the Pleasure principle.

This is because, she was willing to forgo the win inorder to complete her research work. She would later drink the wine for pleasure as a reward for her achievement.

This variable is quite identical with the independent variable as it can be controlled or changed that may affect the response variable(which is similar to dependent variable). However, the observational studies observe the natural responses without any manipulation and therefore, these variables cannot be changed always. Which sentence from the passage suggests that the narrator's creation wants to speak with the narrator? from Frankenstein by Mary Shelley It was on a dreary night of November that I beheld the accomplishment of my toils. With an anxiety that almost amounted to agony, I collected the instruments of life around me, that I might infuse a spark of being into the lifeless thing that lay at my feet. It was already one in the morning; the rain pattered dismally against the panes, and my candle was nearly burnt out, when, by the glimmer of the half-extinguished light, I saw the dull yellow eye of the creature open; it breathed hard, and a convulsive motion agitated its limbs. How can I describe my emotions at this catastrophe, or how delineate the wretch whom with such infinite pains and care I had endeavoured to form? His limbs were in proportion, and I had selected his features as beautiful. Beautiful! Great God! His yellow skin scarcely covered the work of muscles and arteries beneath; his hair was of a lustrous black, and flowing; his teeth of a pearly whiteness; but these luxuriances only formed a more horrid contrast with his watery eyes, that seemed almost of the same colour as the dun-white sockets in which they were set, his shrivelled complexion and straight black lips. The different accidents of life are not so changeable as the feelings of human nature. I had worked hard for nearly two years, for the sole purpose of infusing life into an inanimate body. For this I had deprived myself of rest and health. I had desired it with an ardour that far exceeded moderation; but now that I had finished, the beauty of the dream vanished, and breathless horror and disgust filled my heart. Unable to endure the aspect of the being I had created, I rushed out of the room and continued a long time traversing my bed-chamber, unable to compose my mind to sleep. At length lassitude succeeded to the tumult I had before endured, and I threw myself on the bed in my clothes, endeavouring to seek a few moments of forgetfulness. But it was in vain; I slept, indeed, but I was disturbed by the wildest dreams. I thought I saw Elizabeth, in the bloom of health, walking in the streets of Ingolstadt. Delighted and surprised, I embraced her, but as I imprinted the first kiss on her lips, they became livid with the hue of death; her features appeared to change, and I thought that I held the corpse of my dead mother in my arms; a shroud enveloped her form, and I saw the grave-worms crawling in the folds of the flannel. I started from my sleep with horror; a cold dew covered my forehead, my teeth chattered, and every limb became convulsed; when, by the dim and yellow light of the moon, as it forced its way through the window shutters, I beheld the wretchthe miserable monster whom I had created. He held up the curtain of the bed; and his eyes, if eyes they may be called, were fixed on me. His jaws opened, and he muttered some inarticulate sounds, while a grin wrinkled his cheeks. He might have spoken, but I did not hear; one hand was stretched out, seemingly to detain me, but I escaped and rushed downstairs. I took refuge in the courtyard belonging to the house which I inhabited, where I remained during the rest of the night, walking up and down in the greatest agitation, listening attentively, catching and fearing each sound as if it were to announce the approach of the demoniacal corpse to which I had so miserably given life. Oh! No mortal could support the horror of that countenance. A mummy again endued with animation could not be so hideous as that wretch. I had gazed on him while unfinished; he was ugly then, but when those muscles and joints were rendered capable of motion, it became a thing such as even Dante could not have conceived. I passed the night wretchedly. Sometimes my pulse beat so quickly and hardly that I felt the palpitation of every artery; at others, I nearly sank to the ground through languor and extreme weakness. Mingled with this horror, I felt the bitterness of disappointment; dreams that had been my food and pleasant rest for so long a space were now become a hell to me; and the change was so rapid, the overthrow so complete! Morning, dismal and wet, at length dawned and discovered to my sleepless and aching eyes the church of Ingolstadt, its white steeple and clock, which indicated the sixth hour. The porter opened the gates of the court, which had that night been my asylum, and I issued into the streets, pacing them with quick steps, as if I sought to avoid the wretch whom I feared every turning of the street would present to my view.
