In this Discussion, you will role-play as a citizen of the Roman Empire. So, say you're designing your burial site. What will you be buried in? How will archaeologists 2,500 years from now find your burial laid out? Take a look at the reconstructed Sutton Hoo burial in the Lecture and all the grave goods associated with this man's grave. What grave goods will be found with you? How will they explain the details of your life? What will we know about you when we excavate your burial? What will those archaeologists know about our contemporary culture and visual arts from what they find in your grave? What will they be able to discern about our stories, myths, spirituality? Will you have an epitaph? What will it say? Stay in character: write a message to your survivors. How will they fulfill your wishes to be transported into the next life?

By the way, people, this is intended to be tongue in cheek (it's intended to be ironic). This is to say that while death is a serious subject, this Discussion is not.
