Answer: Hope this helps! Have a good day yo <3

Guns: WW1 proved to be an important war in terms of the advancements made in military technology. Guns in particular became more than just a tool for hunting and killing, but suppressing choke points and reinforcing important vantage points.

Aircraft: Like guns, a lot was discovered in the designing of aerial vehicles. The main focus in planes in WW1 was recon, bombing, and dog fighting. What was learned from planes and aerodynamics in WW1 through trial and error allowed there to be much more advanced aircraft today.

Poison Gas: Probably the most cruel of them all, Poison Gas saw most of it's use in the trenches of WW1. The Poisoned gas, usually made up of chlorine and other chemicals, was inhaled by the enemy and caused a significant amount of pain. Some gasses used in the war would cause the victim to become asphyxiated and cough up blood from their lungs, the sensation of poison gas inside of the lungs was like that of a fierce fire burning inside of you.

U-Boats: U-Boats were mostly used for landing operations. These boats would usually but not always be discharged from a larger boat carrying squads of soldiers to storm the beach that they were headed to. These would later be used in bigger invasions like those of the Pacific Theatre in WW2 and most notably D-DAY.

The first English settlers in Jamestown, Virginia, who arrived in 1607, were eager to find gold and silver. Instead they found sickness and disease. Eventually, these colonists learned how to survive in their new environment, and by the middle of the seventeenth century they discovered that their fortunes lay in growing tobacco.

This 1622 letter from Jamestown colonist Sebastian Brandt to Henry Hovener, a Dutch merchant living in London, provides a snapshot of the colony in flux. Brandt, who likely arrived in 1619 in a wave of 1,200 immigrants, writes of his wife’s and brother’s deaths the previous year almost in passing. He mentions that, due to his own illness, he “was not able to travell up and downe the hills and dales of these countries but doo nowe intend every daye to walke up and downe the hills for good Mineralls here is both golde silver and copper.” Most of Brandt’s letter is devoted to its real purpose: putting in orders for cheese, vinegar, tools, spices, and other assorted goods from the London Company that were not available in Virginia. Interestingly, he promises to pay in tobacco and furs—not in the gold and copper he’s looking for.

We know little about Brandt. He does not appear in any known existing official records, and historians presume he died not long after writing this letter. The glimpse he offers into early Jamestown serves as a tan

Answer: True :)

Explanation:

Providing law enforcement jobs is a positive function of deviance. The given statement is False.

How does positive deviance impact society?

Positive deviance produces learning because those who can help will motivate others to do the same while those who need help will get it; those in greatest need will at least feel cared for while others in more fortunate circumstances can start a positive cycle.

Deviance refers to behavior that violates social norms and expectations and is often associated with negative or harmful behavior. While some forms of deviance may lead to positive outcomes, such as challenging social norms and promoting social change, providing law enforcement jobs is not a positive function of deviance.

Providing law enforcement jobs is a positive function of the criminal justice system, which seeks to prevent and respond to deviant behavior. It is not related to the concept of deviance itself.

Thus, the ideal mentioned above-given statement is False.

Memories of a Memory

Have you ever witnessed something amazing, shocking or surprising and found when describing the event that your story seems to change the more you tell it? Have you ever experienced a time when you couldn't really describe something you saw in a way that others could understand? If so, you may understand why some experts think eyewitness testimony is unreliable as evidence in scientific inquiries and trials. New insights into human memory suggest human memories are really a mixture of many non-factual things.

First, memory is vague. Imagine your room at home or a classroom you see every day. Most likely, you could describe the room very generally. You could name the color of the walls, the floors, the decorations. But the image you describe will never be as specific or detailed as if you were looking at the actual room. Memory tends to save a blurry image of what we have seen rather than specific details. So when a witness tries to identify someone, her brain may recall that the person was tall, but not be able to say how tall when faced with several tall people. There are lots of different kinds of "tall."

Second, memory uses general knowledge to fill in gaps. Our brains reconstruct events and scenes when we remember something. To do this, our brains use other memories and other stories when there are gaps. For example, one day at a library you go to quite frequently, you witness an argument between a library patron and one of the librarians. Later, when telling a friend about the event, your brain may remember a familiar librarian behind the desk rather than the actual participant simply because it is recreating a familiar scene. In effect, your brain is combining memories to help you tell the story.

Third, your memory changes over time. It also changes the more you retell the story. Documented cases have shown eyewitnesses adding detail to testimony that could not have been known at the time of the event. Research has also shown that the more a witness's account is told, the less accurate it is. You may have noticed this yourself. The next time you are retelling a story, notice what you add, or what your brain wants to add, to the account. You may also notice that you drop certain details from previous tellings of the story.

With individual memories all jumbled up with each other, it is hard to believe we ever know anything to be true. Did you really break your mother's favorite vase when you were three? Was that really your father throwing rocks into the river with you when you were seven? The human brain may be quite remarkable indeed. When it comes to memory, however, we may want to start carrying video cameras if we want to record the true picture.

Part A and Part B below contain one fill-in-the-blank to be used for all three question responses. Your complete response must be in the format A, B, C including the letter choice, commas, and a space after the commas.

Part A:

Which of the following best summarizes the main point of the essay "Memories of a Memory"?

Humans have interesting brains that do many things to memories.

Humans have trouble recalling details of spaces.

Research has also shown that the more a witness's account is told, the less accurate it is.
