You are asking us to find the verbs in the paragraph.

A verb is a word that expresses an action or a state. It is part of the predicate and helps introduce the information about the subject. It agrees with the subject, that is, if the subject is plural, the verb is also plural.

Having that explanation in line, let's highlight the verbs in the paragraph

John's friends visit him and they like his house. John and his friends go to the forest and cut down more and more and more trees, to build more and more houses. Soon there are not more trees.     Before he could get into the car, a loud thud reverberates off his head. One of the people in the crowd had successfully aimed a block of wood, 3 inch on both sides, to the back of his head. There was no use turning to check who the culprit was. The pain was begining to set in. Smitty half entered and half jumped into the car as  the Sheriff on cue depressed the accelerator almost sending Smitty out the car again. As the car broke inertia,  it threw Smitty with a strong jolt into the car. He almost hit his head on the dashboard but braced himself with his right hand.

The door oscillated rapidly and widly about three times before Smitty caught it and slammed it shut.

The car roared away raising a lot of dust as it sped off with the crowd pursuing behind them.

Norman repeatedly says how he *almost* won the Silver Star for valor. At first, it appears as a boast; as though he discusses how he was very close to being recognized as a hero. After we find out what happens to Kiowa, that sentence changes meaning. Is Norman actually bragging about almost winning the star, or is he trying to say something else?

Answers

Answer:

Explanation:

Norman was not actually bragging about him getting to win the silver cup of man of valor rather he was lost in his thought of how he couldn't save kiowa from death and he needed to tell someone about his story. He started rehearsing how to share it with his father by starting with the fact that he almost won the silver award for valor but couldn't get to terms that he could not save Kiowa.

The award was usually given by the military but Normans father never believe in award as the true test of one's goodness and it is one of the challenge Norman is having in relating his ordeal to his father.

Isaacson's opinion is that Kota art is "powerful," even if we do not know much about the Kota people. Which evidence does he use to support this opinion? Our imagination tells us that we are looking at a human figure. Its triangles, cylinders, and parts of circles remind us of eyes, a neck, and hair. It can reach across a hundred years and a language we don't understand to touch our lives. It excites our imagination, and our imagination turns the Kota figure into a person.

Answers

Answer:

Isaacson's opinion is that Kota art is "powerful," even if we do not know much about the Kota people. Which evidence does he use to support this opinion?

It can reach across a hundred years and a language we don't understand to touch our lives.

Explanation:

If we knew more about the old customs of the Kota, our experience would be richer, but whatever its original meaning, the Kota funerary figure is still a powerful work of art. It can reach across a hundred years and a language we don't understand to touch our lives. We recognize the figure as a person, although it doesn't look like one. Instead of copying the human body— and many African tribes could do that perfectly—it only suggests the human body. It excites our imagination, and our imagination turns the Kota figure into a person. Its triangles, cylinders, and parts of circles remind us of eyes, a neck, and hair, and our imagination tells us that we are looking at a human figure. The figure is an example of abstract art, an art that doesn't intend things to look real. If we searched, we could find examples of abstract art the world over.

The evidence he uses to support this opinion is It can reach across a hundred years and a language we don't understand to touch our lives. Thus the correct option is C.

What is the evidence?

Evidence is referred to as proof or objects that provide factual information based on true events. This factual information helps to identify whether the events took place or not. it helps to validate the credibility of the sources.

Even though we do not have a lot of information on the Kota people, Isaacson believes that Kota art is "powerful." It can affect our life by spanning a century and a language we don't understand.

The lines" It can reach across a hundred years and a language we don't understand to touch our lives" creates a sense of authority or threat related to the power they own.

Therefore, option  C is Appropriate.

Hi Cynthia,

How are you doing in this period? I believe you are coping in this period of pandemic and total lockdown. Everything will be alright in no time.

You have always told me that we should always be willing to render assistance whenever situations call for it, you said we might be saving a whole nation. This is a true saying my friend as I have a first hand experience to share. I was going home after work on a very dark night last week when I found a body lying down lifelessly near a bush path. I was dead scared and wanted to drive off but I remembered your words and became uncomfortable with the decision I made. I stopped and came down to observe the body, then I noticed it still had some life. There was nobody around to help and I managed to carry the man into the vehicle all alone and take him to a nearby hospital without minding the security and legal  implications of my actions. I was very unsure that anything good could result from what I did, I thought he would still die. He was given medical attention and he survived. Miracle, right?

When he got well he introduced himself as a lawyer and he was shot by armed robbers while going to his office to get some case files. The armed robbers collected his vehicle and all other valuables on him and left him to die. In the course of the discussion, I got to know that he was the lawyer trying to help our family concerning our brother who was indicted of murder and he is the only one that has all the information required to prevent him from going to jail. I never met the man before now but my father has always talked about him and I have spoken to him once on phone. I thank God I did not jettison the spirit that insisted that I must help him.

I learnt a great the from the whole experience. If you help anyone in time of need you are not only saving a nation, you might be saving yourself. Thank you Cynthia for instilling in me that wonderful virtue, you are the best. I hope to receive an email from you soon.

Best Regards.
