Answer:

Explanation:

The Emancipation Proclamation in 1863 freed African Americans in rebel states, and after the Civil War, the Thirteenth Amendment emancipated all U.S. slaves wherever they were. As a result, the mass of Southern blacks now faced the difficulty Northern blacks had confronted—that of a free people surrounded by many hostile whites. One freedman, Houston Hartsfield Holloway, wrote, “For we colored people did not know how to be free and the white people did not know how to have a free colored person about them.”

Even after the Emancipation Proclamation, two more years of war, service by African American troops, and the defeat of the Confederacy, the nation was still unprepared to deal with the question of full citizenship for its newly freed black population. The Reconstruction implemented by Congress, which lasted from 1866 to 1877, was aimed at reorganizing the Southern states after the Civil War, providing the means for readmitting them into the Union, and defining the means by which whites and blacks could live together in a nonslave society. The South, however, saw Reconstruction as a humiliating, even vengeful imposition and did not welcome it.

During the years after the war, black and white teachers from the North and South, missionary organizations, churches and schools worked tirelessly to give the emancipated population the opportunity to learn. Former slaves of every age took advantage of the opportunity to become literate. Grandfathers and their grandchildren sat together in classrooms seeking to obtain the tools of freedom.

After the Civil War, with the protection of the Thirteenth, Fourteenth, and Fifteenth Amendments to the Constitution and the Civil Rights Act of 1866, African Americans enjoyed a period when they were allowed to vote, actively participate in the political process, acquire the land of former owners, seek their own employment, and use public accommodations. Opponents of this progress, however, soon rallied against the former slaves' freedom and began to find means for eroding the gains for which many had shed their blood.

C
Mars

D

Answers

Answer:

mars

Explanation:

Mars planets could be accurately described as rocky, terrestrial, and relatively close to the Sun. The correct option is C.

Why is Mars similar to Earth?

Mars and Earth were founded from the same materials and appeared very similar when the solar system settled in with its current layout over four billion years ago. Both have a solid pillar, a rocky mantle, and a solid crust.

The planets Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars are referred to as terrestrial because their surfaces are compact and rocky, similar to Earth's terra firma. The terrestrial planets are the solar system's four innermost planets. Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars are the four inner planets, or those closest to the Sun. They are smaller and primarily composed of metals and rocks. Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune are the four largest planets and are mostly made up of gases.

Thus, the ideal selection is option C.

give me 2 things of each or at least one of them her name is mary.
please keep it simple and short dont sound to smart thanksss

Answers

Answer:

Explanation:

Whats I see: Mary's bones/skolton. I see her bones are two diferent colors.

What I think: I think something is wrong with her bones.

I only have one question for

Three questions I have: What is worng with her bones.

What I see: I see that certain parts of her skeleton are missing. The skeleton seems to be fairly old, since it has some rough spots along the jawline(the teeth look matured), I also noticed that some of Mary's smaller bones were absent, like her hands and feet. (fyi: the black parts of the skeleton are most likely the parts missing)

What I think: I think that they may have found Mary's skeleton in a very hard place to stay since they didn't seem to get a whole lot of her bones, although some could have been taken by animals if it was not buried in sediment(i.e sand, etc.) The remains they found of Mary's skeleton seemed to be in fair condition, and seem to be very darkened around the shoulder which may mean she did a lot of carrying(or climbing) to wear the points down so much.

3 questions I have: Where was Mary's skeletal remains found, and why is there so little they recovered? Was her skull broken apart, since they have a small portion of her skull but not the rest.

B.
Taxes were so high that the economy began to fail.
C.
Individual states refused to raise militias to keep the peace.
D.

Answers

D. Refer to this article for more information on this answer! Also try searching, “ What powers did the Confederation Congress not have? “ And this should also help you get the information needed :) Hope this helps!

The Confederation Congress lacked the authority to put down rebellions, thus the Constitution granted the federal government the authority to "maintain domestic peace." As a result, Option (D) is the appropriate response.

Why did the Constitution give that power?

In order to be able to deal with any internal violence that might occur in the state, the constitution granted the federal government the authority to maintain domestic peace.

The federal government has the responsibility to maintain both internal and external peace and quiet throughout the country.

The efforts of the national government to maintain peace in the nation are demonstrated by the work of the police in the nation and the national guard during emergencies.

Hence, Option (D) is the correct choice. The Constitution gave the federal government the power to "maintain domestic peace" because the Confederation Congress lacked the authority to quell uprisings.

Do you agree with Ray Bradbury when he said, “Imagination should be at the center of your life?” Why or why not?

Answers

Answer:

No, while it is good to have creativity and imagination and it is important, there should be other things at the center of your life, (an example would be your future) besides that, having an over imagination could lead to disregarding the reality of many situations or just living fantasies while not being able to see the reality and hard truth of the situation at hand.

Explanation:

Answer:

No

Explanation:

Because your imagination is not as good as it seems, it always betrays you.

For example:

If you have a kid that you like, and he becames your bf. Your imagination is gonna imagine a whole future with him, but what if you breaks your heary? Well then all is gonna go away and you are gonna stay broken because that future is not gonna happen.

Explain your answer. Read the excerpt from "The Bet" by Anton Chekov and answer the question.[1] It was a dark autumn night. The old banker was walking up and down his study and remembering how, fifteen years before, he had given a party one autumn evening. There had been many clever men there, and there had been interesting conversations. Among other things they had talked of capital punishment. The majority of the guests, among whom were many journalists and intellectual men, disapproved of the death penalty. They considered that form of punishment out of date, immoral, and unsuitable for Christian States. In the opinion of some of them the death penalty ought to be replaced everywhere by imprisonment for life. "I don't agree with you," said their host the banker. "I have not tried either the death penalty or imprisonment for life, but if one may judge a priori, the death penalty is more moral and more humane than imprisonment for life. Capital punishment kills a man at once, but lifelong imprisonment kills him slowly. Which executioner is the more humane, he who kills you in a few minutes or he who drags the life out of you in the course of many years?"[2] "Both are equally immoral," observed one of the guests, "for they both have the same objectto take away life. The State is not God. It has not the right to take away what it cannot restore when it wants to."[3] Among the guests was a young lawyer, a young man of five-and-twenty. When he was asked his opinion, he said:[4] "The death sentence and the life sentence are equally immoral, but if I had to choose between the death penalty and imprisonment for life, I would certainly choose the second. To live anyhow is better than not at all."[5] A lively discussion arose. The banker, who was younger and more nervous in those days, was suddenly carried away by excitement; he struck the table with his fist and shouted at the young man:[6] "It's not true! I'll bet you two million you wouldn't stay in solitary confinement for five years."[7] "If you mean that in earnest," said the young man, "I'll take the bet, but I would stay not five but fifteen years."[8] "Fifteen? Done!" cried the banker. "Gentlemen, I stake two million!"Select the sentence that advances the plot and creates tension in the excerpt. A: "The majority of the guests, among whom were many journalists and intellectual men, disapproved of the death penalty." (Paragraph 1)B: "'If you mean that in earnest,' said the young man, 'I'll take the bet, but I would stay not five but fifteen years.'" (Paragraph 7)C: "'Both are equally immoral,' observed one of the guests, 'for they both have the same objectto take away life.'" (Paragraph 2)D: "A lively discussion arose."
