A mansion is a large dwelling house. The word itself derives through Old French from the Latin word mansio "dwelling", an abstract noun derived from the verb manere "to dwell". The English word manse originally defined a property large enough for the parish priest to maintain himself, but a mansion is no longer self-sustaining in this way (compare a Roman or medieval villa). Judgment Call Most decisions are made with analysis, but some are judgment calls not susceptible to analysis due to time or information constraints. Please write about a judgment call you've made recently that couldn't be analyzed. It can be a big or small one, but should focus on a business issue. What was the situation, the alternatives you considered and evaluated, and your decision making process? Be sure to explain why you chose the alternative you did relative to others considered

Answers

Although this is a personal question that only you can answer, we can still provide an example of a possible answer.

A judgement call is a decision that is made without having much knowledge of a particular situation, or without basing it on the available evidence and information that we have at a particular moment.

An example of such a judgement call that I made in the past was hiring the best employee I have ever had. When I was a manager at a store, I was responsible for interviewing potential employees. At some point, I interviewed a young man who had no previous experience in a store of this kind. However, I could see that he was enthusiastic, kind, eager to learn and positive. These were all qualities that I considered important in an employee. Therefore, I hired him without looking at his past experience, and he came to be excellent at his job.

I had considered other people with more experience as alternatives. However, none of them had the enthusiasm and desire to learn as this man. The decision-making process I followed was that of listening to this man speak, and paying attention not only to his words, but also to the tone, attitude and body language he presented. All of these factors convinced me of hiring him, even if I did not have enough concrete evidence to make such a choice.

Which of these is a proper noun?
A. Doctor
B. Uncle
C. Tim
D. Robot

Answers

Tim is someone's name, and thus, is a proper noun.

Explanation: A proper noun is a specific noun. For example, "lake" is a common noun and thus do not need capitalization but Lake Michigan is a specific noun (because it's a specific place) and does need capitalized. All proper nouns need capitalization, and a common proper noun is someone's name.

Doctor can be used generally, you could say, "I think I need to go see a doctor" so that's not it

Uncle could work if you were referring to someone specifically. "My uncle is coming over" is using it in a general sense, but, "My Uncle John is coming over" is more specific, so that would be a specific noun but in this case, it isn't.

Robot by itself is a common noun so it isn't an option. For example, "did you see this cool robot she's working on?" It's used in a general sense.

Answer:

A proper noun is a name used for an individual person, place, or organization, spelled with initial capital letters so the answer is Tim.

what is ironic about Willy's constant complaints about the failure of the consumer goods, given his job in Death of A Salesman?

Answers

Answer:

The irony in Willy's complaint about the failure of the consumer is that he fell for the pitch made to him by advertisement, being that he himself is a salesman and is aware of the reality of pitch.

Explanation:

"Death Of A Salesman" is a two-act play written by Arthur Miller. The play is about the life and death of Willy Loman, a sixty-three-year old salesman.

The play portrays the illusion of American Dream that promises to bring prosperity and success. But for some this promises proved to be vague.

The irony found in constant complaint of Willy about the consumer goods- fridge and car- is that he being a salesman himself bought the pitch of the advertisements. He, himself being a salesman knows how this pitch works. He perceived that the advertisments were telling the truths but he lashes out when the reality of this advertisment hits him.

Schools should start teaching students how to write resumes as soon as they can start working. Schools wait till the students are juniors and seniors to help them write resumes. But what about the students that want to start working at 14? If schools taught the younger students how to write resumes it could influence them to start thinking about their future or something they might be interested in.

If schools started helping students write resumes and talk about careers when they can start working they can start thinking about what they want to do for a living instead of waiting till their last years of highschool. They could get in experience and learn different skills before they have to decide what they want to pursue after high school. Some students have no clue what they want to do once they graduate, if schools started talking about carres at a younger age they could try different things, take classes in high school that interest them or go towards the career they want in life. 45% of students in a 2016 survey say that they feel positive about their career and college readiness, while the other 55% don't feel ready. Another survey from 2016 says that 46% of students feel that their school has helped them figure out a career choice based on their abilities and interest, that means over half of those students feel unprepared and have no clue on what they want to do after graduation.

I believe that if students get the extra consulting and preparation for college and future careers at a younger age they would be more prepared for college. Students go to schools to help them get an education and prepare them for life after highschool, but how well does school actually prepare you? “A survey conducted by the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AACU) found that only 55 percent of students attending high school feel prepared to enter the real world. This is concerning since high-schools do teach pupils how to think critically, respect deadlines, be part of a team, be punctual, or study properly.”(AzBigMedia). This shows that students don't feel that highschool prepares them enough for the real world. High school is supposed to help students discover who they are and who they want to be, it’s supposed to help them learn life skills and learn what career choices interest them. Students can't learn who they are or what they want to be if the schools don't prepare them or help them learn about careers and jobs that interest them.

Schools should better prepare students for college, future careers and life after highschool. If schools started teaching students at a younger age it could improve how prepared students feel about their life after high school and their career and college choices.
